“Seli” is located about 60 km south - east of Heraklion and 2 km east of the settlement of Ano Viannos, exactly next to the Heroes Monument at Amira – Viannos.
Seli is a historical, tragic location at the village of Amira of the Province of Viannos, in the county of Heraklion. This is where, in 1966, the Pan-Provincial Monument was built, in honour of the execution of 117 men in September 1943 by the German occupation troops.
Seli is at a distance of about 20 km from the new airport of Kastelli, which is under construction and will be ready in 5 years, which means that the traveler will take between 15 and 20 minutes to reach it by car.
